HOW AUTHORITY PROPAGANDA WORKS: DOCUMENTED TECHNIQUES
Evidence Type: Leaked Media Division documents, whistleblower testimony, content analysis
Source: Media Department whistleblower, internal style guides, production schedules
TECHNIQUE 1: VOCABULARY CONTROL
The Authority has a 300-page style guide dictating how to describe events. Examples:
| Reality | Authority Terminology |
|---|---|
| Civilians shot by guards | "Security personnel responded to hostile travelers" |
| Checkpoint denial quotas | "Enhanced security verification protocols" |
| Mass murder | "Security incident with casualties" |
| Arbitrary denials | "Rigorous document scrutiny" |
Purpose: Hide agency, blame victims, obscure Authority violence
TECHNIQUE 2: SELECTIVE STATISTICS
Authority claims "99.2% document verification accuracy" and "82.4% approval rate." Both technically true, both misleading:
- "99.2% accuracy" = how often Authority CLAIMS documents are accurate (actual accuracy unknown)
- "82.4% approval" = reflects denial QUOTAS, not document quality
Purpose: Make arbitrary denial system look fair and scientific
TECHNIQUE 3: HERO NARRATIVES
Turn criminals into heroes. Isabella Jean example:
- Emphasize tragic background (Collapse orphan)
- Frame crimes as "impossible situations"
- Use scripted "testimonials" (compensated, approved responses)
- Bury body counts and contradictory evidence
- Attack survivors as "agitators"
Budget for Jean rehabilitation: $2.4 million

TECHNIQUE 4: MEMORY HOLE
Delete inconvenient history from public databases:
- North Ribbon incident: Search returns "approved summary" only
- Sacramento Truth Commission: "No results found"
- Denial quotas: "Access restricted"
- Belt habitability studies: Returns "contamination risk information" instead
Purpose: If you can't find records of crimes, did they happen?
TECHNIQUE 5: COUNTER-NARRATIVE OPERATIONS
$3.1 million budget to attack resistance journalism:
- "Misinformation Alert" series (discredit without naming sources)
- "Real vs. Fake" comparisons (cherry-pick data)
- "Whistleblower consequences" warnings (intimidate leakers)
If we're lying, debunk us with facts. Instead, they spend millions on propaganda. Who's really lying?
HOW TO RECOGNIZE PROPAGANDA
When consuming Authority media, ask:
- Are they using passive voice to hide who did what? ("Casualties occurred" vs. "Guards shot civilians")
- Are statistics presented without context or methodology?
- Are emotional appeals substituting for evidence?
- Are contradictory voices mentioned or suppressed?
- Can you verify claims independently?
If answers make you uncomfortable, you're probably being manipulated.
