What the Authority Says:

"In the immediate aftermath of the catastrophe, heroic Authority leadership provided food, shelter, and security to devastated survivors. Temporary emergency measures were implemented to ensure safety and order."

What Really Happened:

January-March 2028: Military Coup Disguised as Emergency Response

The catastrophe ended in December 2027. By January 2028, an estimated 203 million people were dead across North America. Survivors were traumatized, desperate, disorganized.

A coalition of military officers, corporate executives, and government officials calling themselves "The Continental Authority" moved quickly:
